Every user visits your website with a variety of unanswered questions:
Naturally, your website should answer these questions for your visitors. Beyond that, though, there are some tips to making it easy and enjoyable for you readers to gain this information.
1. Establish Your Brand Voice
Consistency is key! You want your website to reflect the personality and voice of your brand and you want to differentiate your brand language from your competitors.
2. Use Authority in Your Content
Active words, a strong vocabulary, and an authoritative tone will allow for your message to be clear and well-received. These doesn’t mean be aggressive in your content, but in order to be seen as an authority in your industry, you’ve got to write like you are one! Active verbiage works to make it seem like your work is in teh present and that you do what you do now, rather than later.
3. Be Wary of Typographical Errors
Proofreading is your best friend! While a spelling or grammar error here and there can be shrugged off, you can seriously lose your credibility if you’ve got mistakes all over the place.
4. Benefits Are Better Than Features
Your reader may not realize how a feature of your service will benefit them, so it’s best to describe those benefits rather than the components of a good or service.
5. Link to Other Sites
To gain the trust of your visitors, it’s a good idea to link to websites with some authority on the topic of which you are writing.
6. Add Calls To Action to Your Pages
Remind your visitors why they are on your website! You want your content to turn out good results, so each page of your site should have a unique, eye-catching call-to-action.
7. Don’t Be Spammy in Your Writing
Your content should be able to be read aloud without sounding unnatural or keyword-stuffed. While the appropriate keywords should be present, they should appear in tasteful quantities amongst writing that makes sense, is easy-to-read, and informative.
